I qualified as a social worker in 2001 (MA/ DIPSW) and have 15 years post qualifying experience working with children and families in a diverse range of settings. My first degree was in Psychology (BSC/ HONS) and I recently completed training to become a facilitator of the Incredible Years Parenting Program (Webster-Stratton).
As an experienced social worker I am skilled in psychosocial assessment and examining human behaviour in a broad context. I am registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) and the British Association of Social Work (BASW). I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
As a practitioner, I have always favoured a practical approach to therapeutic intervention with children and families, and my work is predominantly solution- focussed. This approach always starts with a holistic comprehensive assessment, followed by a clear analysis of the presenting problems. Then, with you at the centre, we work together to agree the most appropriate and flexible steps to meet your specific needs.
